The Ottawa County Road Commission is a Board established by State law to be responsible for all roads within Ottawa County with the exception of all State trunklines such as, I-96, I-196, US-31, M-6, M-121 , & M-45 and streets within all cities for example; Holland, Grand Haven, and Coopersville. We perform maintenance activities such as snow plowing, grass cutting, and shoulder grading under contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation. The cities receive funds to maintain and improve the streets within their boundaries. The only statutory role played by the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners is to appoint a Road Commissioner every two years. Any questions or concerns regarding roads should be directed to the Ottawa County Road Commission at 616-842-5400.
